Who We Are

SandyBottomAVIWelcome to Sandy Bottom Farm!

We’re Sarah and Randy Wilde and in 2006 we finally purchased our farm. The property had been left a shambles and our first two years were spent picking up trash left behind by the previous owners and renters.

Renewing our five acres is a long-term project, a labor of love (and responsibility), for us. Trash still works its way to the top of the soil and needs removal. Once-grand oaks, damaged from activities prior to our arrival and rampant oak wilt, demand our attention every year. Dirt farming is still a pastime to improve the soil for fruits, vegetables, trees, and flowers. Prairie areas are slowly being restored.

Over the years, we’ve become an unofficial sanctuary for older livestock or livestock that needs a new home due to other circumstances if we have the space for them. We’ve taken in roosters, goats, sheep, and a mule. Our livestock veterinarian refers to our farm as the “Retirement Home for Elderly Animals”. The funny thing is, that’s what we’ve jokingly called ourselves.

We encourage you to check in on what we’re doing, what we’re making, or the latest antics of our happy critters.

Sarah and Randy

Hello, How do I contact you? I love all meat you guys sell! We buy from our local farmer’s market in Fairlington and just wanted to ask if it’s all hormone-free. Thank you!
